3、Detailed Pairing Step-By-Step Guide
Pairing the Zigbee smart light switch is not complicated. Just follow the steps below to add the device and quickly integrate it into the smart home network.
Step 1: Connect the Zigbee gateway
① Make sure the Zigbee gateway is plugged into a power source and connected to your home WIFI network.
② Download and install the corresponding control application (such as SmartThings, Aqara Home, or Philips Hue).
③ If you are setting up the gateway for the first time, please refer to the device manual for settings, follow the App prompts, register and log in to the account, add the gateway, and connect to the local network. After successful access, the gateway indicator light will usually be on. After successfully connecting to the Internet, it can start pairing with Zigbee devices.
Step 2: Switch the smart light switch to pairing mode
① Each Zigbee smart light switch may operate differently when entering pairing mode. Usually, press and hold the Zigbee smart switch for 5-10 seconds, and the indicator light will start flashing, indicating that the device has entered pairing mode.
② If you cannot enter pairing mode, you can refer to the manual for reset operations, usually power off and then power on again, and long press the pairing button again.
Step 3: Add devices to the control app
① Open the control app of the Zigbee gateway (such as SmartThings, Alexa App, etc.) and enter the device adding option.
② Select the Zigbee device type, click “Add device” or “Scan device”, and the app will automatically search for smart switches in pairing mode.
③ After successfully finding the smart light switch, click Add and Rename to confirm the addition and assign it to the corresponding area in your home.
④ In SmartThings, select “Add new device” and select the Zigbee light switch from the list; in Zigbee2MQTT, access the management page through a browser and click “Permit Join” to allow the device to access.
Step 4: Test the connection
Once the device is successfully paired, you can test the smart light switch’s on/off function in the app to ensure that it is working properly and can be controlled remotely. If the response is slow or unstable, you can test it at different distances to determine whether the network coverage needs to be expanded.
Through the above steps, your Zigbee smart light switch will successfully join the home network, helping to create a convenient and efficient smart home life.
